Q: How many poses do I get with my photo session? (back to top)

A: Unlike other portrait studios, we don't limit or even count the poses we shoot. Since our background is fashion and commercial photography, we define a session by the number of hours of shooting rather than number of poses.

Our standard session is roughly 2 (two) hours. Within that time, you can change clothing, poses, backgrounds and lighting as many times as you want. We find that this works so much better compared to the typical '3 pose portrait session' where the photographer only takes 30 photos and calls that a 'session.'

While this way of handling our scheduling means we can see fewer customers, we feel that the results are well worth it. This also means that most of our sessions yield alot more than 30 photos! Which, in turn, means our customers have more images to choose from. Again, we think the tradeoff here works very well.

We like to start a session getting you comfortable with the flashes, during which time we'll adjust the lights and camera settings. After several 'test' shots are taken, we'll show you how you are looking. This gives you the opportunity to make any adjustments to you hair, makeup, clothing or expressions.

In general, this way of working with people is the same method we use when we are 'breaking in' fashion models. We have found that this interactive method helps people obtain natural and relaxed looking photos in a fairly short period of time, even if they are normally shy and nervous.

A: AudreStudios has unsurpassed graphic image expertise.

After we take a photo there are a multitude of post-processing options we can apply; things like sepia tinting, black & white, film grain, soft focus, and even effects that mimic natural watercolor!

If this is something that you are interested in, please talk to us before your session so we can make the necessary adjustments while we're taking photos. This will reduce the time it will take to create your custom image.

In extreme processing cases, we can create extensive special effects or repaint entire images to build surreal or fantasy worlds for you to be in!

We can even do 'blue screen' effects, giving us the ability to interchange the background imagery of your portrait. This way, you have the option of selecting backgrounds for your portrait that would never be possible in real life.

Q: How do I order photos? (back to top)

A: You can order photos any way you feel most comfortable!

  • Online: If you are comfortable with your computer and the internet, we have an online proofing and order system. Our proofing system is there, 24-7, ready when you are. Our proof site is located at http://proof.audrestudios.com. You can also click on any of the PROOFs links that appear at the left, top, or bottom of this page.

  • CD-Rom: If you have a computer, but your internet connection is poor or you don't have internet at all, we can make a CD-Rom for you with your proofs on it for a minimal charge of $20. This allows you to have your proofs right on your computer, without having to have an internet connection.

  • Proof Sheets: If you don't have or even like computers we can order proof sheets for your photo session. Pricing for hard-copy proof sheets varies with the number of photos in a session, but the charge is typically only a few dollars per page of 8 - 12 photos.

Once you know the images you want, and the sizes of the prints or packages, you can order online or over the phone!

Q: How is my order delivered? (back to top)

A: Our default process is to ship orders via USPS Priority mail. This means we can ship to a PO Box. However, you are very welcome to pick your order up at our South Lyon studio location. Let us know which is most convenient for you.

Q: What payment options do you accept? (back to top)

A: For your convenience we accept the following credit cards: American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. A 4% credit card fee will be applied. (This is what it costs us to process each credit transaction.)

Personal and Corporate checks are welcome. Our returned check fee is $35.

Also, we give a 3% discount when customers pay for orders with cash.

Q: Can I return my Order? (back to top)

A: We make every effort to show you how your photo session is progressing. We provide real time proofing, as well as the ability to view your proofs online so we do not give refunds. We do, however, want you 100% happy. If you are ever that unhappy with our work, we'll be happy to schedule a complementary session to retake your photos.

Q: Can I view my proofs online? (back to top)

A: Yes! Your proofs can be viewed online a few days after your session. Our proof site is located at http://proofs.audrestudios.com. You can also click on any of the PROOFs links that appear at the left, top, or bottom of this page.

Q: Can I scan, photocopy, or reprint AudreStudios photos? (back to top)

A: No. It is against the law to scan or make copies of photos taken by AudreStudios because they are copyrighted and are the property of AudreStudios. We do offer an extensive Ala Carte ordering system which makes it super-easy to obtain reprints of photos at reasonable prices. We're also very happy to take reprint orders over the phone, and have your reprints delivered right to your door.

Q: Can I display AudreStudios photos on my website? (back to top)

A: The only legal way to have AudreStudios photos on your website is to purchase low-cost, web-resolution image files. You can purchase web-ready files through our online proof store, by clicking here. Or, give us a call and we'll take your order over the phone.

Q: What is your copyright policy? (back to top)

A: All photos are copyrighted by AudreStudios. This means that no use is allowed without written permission from AudreStudios. Q: Is it OK to hotlink to photos on your website? (back to top)

A: No. Hotlinking is a polite way of saying "stealing bandwidth from our servers." As such, we really frown upon the practise because it is, well, theft.

Our website costs go up as the bandwidth usage goes up so bandwidth theft costs us money by increasing our website hosting fees. {Hotlinking is direct linking to website files from other sites. Bandwidth refers to the amount of data transferred from a web site to a user's computer.}

If you really want to display a photo on your webpage, we do offer a very cost effective, low resolution, file option of your image. You can purchase a low resolution copy of your photo, provided in .JPG format, by clicking here.

A: Yes! We offer gift certificates. Gift certificates come in increments of $50.00. We also offer entire package gift certificates. You can purchase gift certificates from our studio location, or from our online store by clicking here now.

Q: Can I reschedule my photo session? (back to top)

A: We require a non-refundable deposit of 1/2 of our normal sitting fee, when your appointment is made. Sessions can be rescheduled without loss of deposit if we have 48 hours notice. A deposit is good for 3 months, after which time, another deposit will need to be made to schedule another appointment, we do not give any cash discounts.

A: Given enough notice, we're always happy to work around your schedule. This means we're open to weekend and nighttime photo shoots! We do require enough lead time, however, for non standard working hours to allow us to plan accordingly with our other sessions.

And, we're happy to take your call whenever it is convenient for you. If you happen to call while our office is closed, just leave us a message and we'll call you back.

Q: Should I be early for my session? (back to top)

A: We encourage you to be at LEAST 15 minutes early for your session. During this time you may ask questions abuout the shoot and start to get ready.

We suggest that you come an hour early if you have interest in taking advantage of our fantasy and computer graphics options. This will give you time to ask questions and review examples to help you make your selection.
